Myles & Francis of this office attended a very informative Seminar “Pensions & Investments Seminar” held recently by Davy Select.
The findings of the recent Irish Association of Pension Funds – Benefits Conference were discussed.
Of particular note were the following findings;
• The Current State pension is currently not sustainable
• The State pension needs to reduce by a further 35% to become sustainable
• If the State pension is reduced by 35% then the number of working households at risk increases from 29% to 52%
This is the stark and frightening reality facing a lot of households into the future.
